Church Buildout

Tim here.

So the last 2 months have been a little insane for us. I've been working a ton because our church is leasing a new location (a warehouse in Wilsonville). The goal was to be moved and ready for Easter.

I was in charge of setting up the lights and the sound. I'm fairly comfortable with the sound, but I'm a novice at best in the lighting department. So most of my efforts were trying to figure out lighting. I guess I'm learning something new, which is cool.

Anyways, below are some pictures. You can see more at: http://www.atheycreek.blogspot.com/

Here is the beginning product. This was probably in mid- to late-February.

This is mid-week before Easter. Even though it doesn't look like it, a LOT of work had been done by this point. Notice the stage wall has been built (it sticks out more), and the ceiling is dark brown. Also notice that there's no sound set up yet - no speakers in the air.........

At this point, I was starting to wonder whether this could be pulled off in the next 3-4 days.

Easter Sunday! We have sound, we have acoustic panels, we have (some) lights. We're still installing more lights, so that we can remove the Costco style buzzing lights. It's a miracle!!!

We still had to be port-a-church for the last few weeks, which meant tearing down everything and setting up at the school for mid-week services. But we're now officially in this building for good.

When you work at a church, Easter's always a busy season. But this year was especially busy and stressful. Throughout it all, it was easy to lose sight of the reason why we meet. But the Lord is good, He helped me meet the deadline, and ultimately we got to thank him for the salvation he gives us.

I'm also happy to be spending more time at home now with my beautiful family. :)

Happy Belated Easter!

We were blessed to celebrate the day of our risen Lord with family and friends. We began the day by attending church in our new location in Wilsonville! It was great to see what Tim has been working so hard on finally come together. I will let him tell you more on that later as he wanted to post some pictures of the building and sanctuary. After church we enjoyed dinner with some of my family.
I realize that I have only been a mom for a short while now, and I anticipate my role will continually change as we grow as a family. So far I've found it challenging to get other things accomplished besides caring for Elijah. It makes me appreciate my mom so much more to see all that she does and has done. Take this table for example, I know it's just a snippet of what she does, but she puts such a beautiful touch on the things that she does. Thanks mom!

Mom, Eli, and I had fun decorating some eggs last Saturday.

Meet Eli's Great-Grandpa (95 years young). He says Eli is such a handsome little fella.

Eli's first Easter celebration!
